One of the things people regularly say when they first stand at the side of the road for the Tour de France, or any big bike race for that matter, is that it "goes by in a blur". That's what I tried to capture here.
The race here is less than 6km from the finish, which is pretty much guaranteed to be a sprint, given the nature of the day's course. The speed at this point is therefore in the region of 60-70 kph (37-44 mph).
The camera is handheld, but thanks to image stabilisation I was able to shoot at a shutter speed of 1/15, creating the blurred effect.
