One of the things people regularly say when they first stand at the side of the road for the Tour de France, or any big bike race for that matter, is that it "goes by in a blur". That's what I tried to capture here, with this image of one of the support vehicles in the race convoy. In the last ten kilometres of a sprint stage, the speed will be in excess of 60 kmh, and even though this vehicle is travelling ahead of the race, it has to maintain that sort of speed to ensure the race doesn't catch up.
The camera is handheld, but thanks to image stabilisation I was able to shoot at a shutter speed of 1/15, creating the blurred effect.
