In the Venetian dialect the word 'liago' refers to a kind of corridor, terrace or balcony enclosed by glass. This particular liago is on the first floor of the Doge's Palace, adjacent to the meeting room of the Great Council, providing it's members with a space for side-bar conversations between formal sessions of the council.
