The Crédit Lyonnais lion is a fixture of the Caravane Publicitaire at the Tour de France. The race is one of several organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation, and at every one of their French stage races Crédit Lyonnais, a French bank, sponsors the leader's Yellow Jersey. At the end of each stage, in addition to the jersey, the overall leader is presented with a cuddly toy lion, which is displayed proudly in the window of the team bus for the rest of the race. These toys are highly prized, as their is no other way of acquiring one; replicas, which would sell like hot cakes, are not available to buy.
